Ermatingen, 29.08.2010 - With what ultimately turns out be a clear 4-1 win against the hosts Switzerland, Austria retain their European Championship title from 2008 one year before the World Championship on home soil.

Fistballers swap fists for feet!
16.06.2010, Linz/Pasching - The Austrian national team, supported by two Brazilian magicians with the ball, will be taking part in "Upper Austria's Longest Football Match". There will be an unusual final training session two days before the game - ball at the ready and let's go!

2011 Fistball WCH squad at opening of sports ground in Peilstein
26.05.2010, Peilstein - The U21 European Championship will be held in Peilstein near Rohrbach at the beginning of July. Whitsun saw the official opening of the new sports ground there. The Peilstein fistball kids were joined by the entire Austrian 2011 Fistball WCH squad who not only trained with them but also showed their abilities in an exhibition match.

2011 Fistball WCH at the OMV Linz Donau Marathon
11.04.2010, Linz - The Austrian Fistball Association was represented by an impressive 10 relay teams at the OMV Linz Donau Marathon. Head coach Winfried Kronsteiner registered the entire 2011 Fistball World Championship squad for the race. Players from the men's U21, U18 and the women's team made up the numbers for the 40-strong team.

06.03.2010, Linz - An audience with His Majesty: Jürgen Drews, the self-proclaimed "King of Majorca", turned the Platinum club in Linz into "El Arenal". The German singer also had another king and a queen for company: Brazil's carnival queen Jucilene Fernandes Ferreira danced to the beat of "Bett im Kornfeld" and fistball king Sigi Simon brought back some fond memories for Drews, who is still in excellent shape. "I played fistball at school - and was quite good at it as well." Drews was given an invitation to the World Championship in Austria in August 2011. "I can't wait for the big match between Germany and Austria," said the popular heart-throb who came to Linz straight from the recording studio but still found time to rock the Platinum for an hour. At the end he signed a fistball that will be among the prizes in one of the next "Give Me Five" draws.

Fistballers strike back - 3 World Champions in action again
Diakonissen Hospital, Linz. Dietmar Weiss, Klemens Kronsteiner and Martin Weiss, three reigning Fistball World Champions, leave Dr Gernot Aitzetmüller's surgery in a good mood after a routine post-operative check-up. The three fistball players share not only a love of the same sport and the World Championship title they clinched together, they also share the same consultant physician due to the similar injuries they have suffered.

2011 Fistball WCH congratulates Austrian indoor champions 2010
24.02.2010, Wels - UNION Raiffeisen Dialog Telekom Arnreit and TUS Raiffeisen Kremsmünster are the Austrian indoor champions 2010. The 2011 Fistball World Championship was also represented at the SHS Pernau venue in Wels at which the next five lucky winners of the "Give Me Five" competition were announced.
